Welcome to Paradise

Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Botchwey has praised Antigua and Barbuda’s hospitality as the twin-island nation welcomes more than 5,000 visitors for CHOGM. With representatives from 56 countries gathering, Antigua is demonstrating that a small nation can rise to a very big occasion. There will be speeches, motorcades, distinguished guests and enough protocol to keep everyone on their toes. But beyond the formalities lies something Antigua does particularly well: making visitors feel welcome. The Commonwealth has arrived in paradise. Let’s hope everyone finds time to enjoy it.
